Insulating materials or other solid combustible materials that are prone to flame spread inside the equipment may be ignited by a hot wire or a burning element. Under certain conditions, such as the fault current flowing through the wire, component overload, and bad contact, some components will reach a certain temperature and cause the nearby parts to ignite.

 

This testing machine is used to evaluate the ignition risk of thermal stress caused by a heat source such as a burning element or overload resistance in a short time. Applicable to electrical and electronic equipment and its components, but also for solid electrical insulation materials or other solid combustible materials

  1. Test Principle

 

Heating wire test using flameless ignition source (Heating wire is a standard resistance wire ring) It uses electric heating to a specified temperature, and then under test conditions, makes the heating wire touch the tested sample.

(1) Chamber capacity: 0.5 m3, width * depth * height: 950 * 600 * 900 (mm)

(2)Outline size: 1200 (L) x 600 (W) x 1080 (H) mm

(3)Hotwire: made of nickel/chromium with a diameter of 4mm.

(4) Thermocouple: 0.5 mm diameter armored filament thermocouple, which can withstand high temperatures of 1050℃.

(5) Heating current: when the temperature is 960℃, the current is between 120 ~ 150 A.

(6) The force applied to the test is 0.8 ~ 1.2 N, and the penetration depth is at least 7 mm.

(7) Timer: ignition duration (Ti) and flame extinction time (Te).

(8) Outer box material: stainless steel
